Hotel dilemma
The hotel I am booked into had only one night available. Which means if the van isn’t fixed today (Friday) which it probably won’t be then I have to find another hotel - but for three nights and assuming they fix it on Monday. I already paid for the camp site until Tuesday which I can’t now use.
But then I receive an email from my current hotel- “good news we have a room for tonight.” Fine I’ll take it, cut my losses, garage might work Saturday morning in which case I could be away without hassle to book another hotel - sounds good eh?
So I goes to pay for my extra night tonight, “oh but you will have to move to another room.”
That’s fine, I’m travelling light!
“OK, that will be €176.”
Ah wait says I already paid for last night €90 including breakfast, so I guess it’s less.
“Let me check”
“No, that’s correct it’s €176 for tonight only.”
😵💫
“Well we are full you see, so that’s tonight’s price.”
You can imagine what I said.
There is an expression for this type of pricing, in fact there are probably several expressions for this type of pricing, most of which couldn’t be expressed in a family suitable blog like mine!
Back to square one as far as accommodation is concerned at least.
So I’m playing Russian roulette between the anticipated feedback from my servicio friends and Booking.com as their downtown Zaragoza hotels availability and prices fluctuate.
I wouldn’t mind but this hotel ain’t great, down from a Premier Inn I would say, I’m not doing luxury you can be assured.
I currently have an offer from Booking.com for three nights, circa €300, they have two rooms left - mobile only availability (btw, for those that don’t know like me five minutes ago, that means it’s only available via the app - more marketing pressure to get folks on the app 🙄).
Do I stick or twist?
Tune in later to find out!
